Saturday 19 March 2005 is the first annual Livejournal Clean-Air Day.
"On March 19 we hope to establish a window to creating Clean-Air on Livejournal, a day without hatred, a day where LJ drama is put to a resolute halt, a day without gossip, a day to be lived in gratitude and awareness."
People use their online journals for very different purposes, some write about trivial things, others use it to vent their frustrations, share funny stories, talk about day-to-day life or look for support. Livejournal is a garland of unique characters. Every entry here on Livejournal is valid and we respect it. Still, every entry that is read by eyes other than yours will have an effect. What kind of effect would you like to have on others? We believe that every word you choose to throw into the air will either have a positive or negative outcome in this Universe, the law of cause and effect.
Clean-Air day is a celebration of life with all of its tribulations and an opportunity to write a positive entry in your journal about a current LJ friend or an ex-LJ friend or even someone you met shortly through journal comments or in a community. You don't have to mention names, but share a story on Clean-Air day about a situation with someone here on LJ that touched you, a moment that made a difference. On March 19 we hope to establish a window to creating Clean-Air on Livejournal, a day without hatred, a day where LJ drama is put to a resolute halt, a day without gossip, a day to be lived in gratitude and awareness.
A contact is one moment in time. No matter how the situation may be between you and this person, share a memory on March 19 and pay tribute to that one moment that you chose to cherish in your heart. Your input matters on this day and every day!

Well, I'm not as eloquent all the others, or as concise as hunterdane's :)
I have been on LiveJournal almost 8 months now, and I enjoy it here it's a great place of community. It is so nice to be allowed to see some of other people's lives and get to know you better. You are all wonderful; you can make me smile, laugh, think, learn or feel something just from what you write about.
I am so grateful to be here and have you on my friends list, am thankful to know such nice people as yourselves.
